Welcome

What is Painting with a Twist?? SO glad you asked!

What's the Twist? ... Whatever you want it to be! Since we specialize in encouraging creativity in sometimes hesitant artists-in-denial, some of our patrons enjoy uncorking a bottle of wine, unscrewing a beer, or downing a carton of chocolate milk -- just to get the juices flowing, so to speak. You bring WHATEVER you'd like to eat and drink to our art parties, and we supply the rest (you know, the art stuff)!

We offer 2 and 3 hour art parties. Check out our calendar by clicking the cleverly named "Calendar" tab, and choose the painting you'd like to come express yourself with! You'll see the date of the painting, the time we've designated to paint the painting, and what the painting looks like. *Private parties will not have a painting shown on the calendar. You can register by clicking the Reserve button under your desired party picture and following online instructions, which will also walk you through the credit card process (we accept all major plastics). Only paid spots can be held, so please either pay via the website or give us a call for an over-the-phone credit card payment. Please note we require a 24 hour cancellation notice due to the fact that our awesome and diligent artists prepare materials the day before you're scheduled to make your artistic showing. Pre-paid reservations are necessary so we can make sure we have enough assistant help, materials, and bail money. **Please note that by registering and entering your credit card info online, payment will go through immediately.

Here's a run down of some Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: <insert whiny voice> But what if I can't even draw a stick figure? A: You're in luck. None of our 2500+ paintings contain any stick figures!

Q: How much, and what am I paying for? A: 2 hour classes = $35 per painter; 3 hour classes = $45. You will receive all of the materials needed to complete your work of art - including an apron to use in case you want to impress us by wearing an old bridesmaid dress or perhaps your brand new silk and cashmere-infused pantsuit. (Note: please don't) You'll also receive either 2 or 3 hours of step-by-step instruction on completing your masterpiece and a chunk of time devoted to having fun, catching up, gossiping (just talk loud enough for us to hear too), a unique way to spend a date night, etc.

Q: When do I get to take my painting home? A: We use fast drying acrylic paint, so when you leave our studio at the end of the party you'll walk out with a smile, a new confidence in your art skills, and your completed 16 X 20 inch painting, ready to hang on your wall when you get home.

Q: What if I can't finish my painting in the 2 or 3 hours? A: The first Saturday of every month from 10am-noon, we host an S.O.S. class - you can bring in any Painting with a Twist painting to tweak and/or finish it...for FREE! Just please register (for FREE) and let us know that you're coming and what painting you're needing more time with!

Q: Where are you located? A: On the corner of Dowlen and Phelan (Beaumont), in the same parking lot as the BIG World Gym, Basic Foods, Mackenzie's Pub, etc. We're in between Mackenzie's and Farmer's Insurance.

Q: What kind of food / drinks can I bring? A: Whatever you want!! We've seen it all - fast food, cheese trays, pizza, diet shakes, forties in paper bags, margarita machines, wine coolers, strawberry milk, tuna sandwich from home - Anything goes! We recommend finger foods to keep your nimble fingers ready to paint. We also have paper plates, paper towels, ice buckets, wine openers, and plastic cups. Feel free to bring your own, and there's a gas station in our parking lot that sells bagged ice - feel free to bring in an ice chest or use 1 of our ice buckets for your ice.

Q: Can kids come? A: We LOVE teaching children so we host Family Days on most weekends as well as Kids Camps when the kiddos are out of school. We ask that our regular non-Family Day and non-Kids Camp classes be reserved for ages 15-143. For clarification: It's not that we think your child will hang from the ceiling. It's because we want our adult artists to feel completely relaxed and able to talk freely about anything that they'd like to. Adults adore children but most automatically feel pressure to act and speak differently when there are children around, and we're all about being relaxed and letting go. To recap: ages 14 and younger - Family Days, Kids Camps. 15 and older - any class. *Note: Private parties are the exception. The host/ess of a private party has the say-so in whether children are encouraged to participate.

Q: Do men paint? A: Yep. And are darn good at it!   SIDE NOTE: Men. Pay attention. Single? A group of beautiful women seeing your creative artistic side. Horrible? We didn't think so. Taken? Milk it. Drag her to a football game to "repay" you. Ask for your favorite beverage to bring. Use it as an out to not cut the grass the next day. You'll have a blast and she'll fall in love with you all over again. Or not. But at least you'll have an impressive painting to show for it!

Q: What do I do if I get addicted? A: We'll put you on our support group list

Q: I called but no one called me back. A: We're probably at the spa getting manicures. Not really... Our artists and assistants are only in the studio during classes, which makes it hard to answer the phone as our budding artists get 99.8% of our attention. Our owner (Ashley, who happens to be me!) and Stephanie (Office Manager as well as artist) are at the studio as much as possible during the day, but long fun nights at Painting with a Twist make it hard sometimes to get back early. You can leave a message on the anserring machine, but the most effective way to get in touch with is is to email beaumont@paintingwithatwist.com. Ashley has had her smartphone surgically implanted and will receive your email immediately. Please give her a few minutes to respond though ... she might be at the spa.
