Lets face it, we're ready for spring.
We may not be ready for daylight savings time this weekend (*hint hint* set your clocks back) but we are definitely ready for spring. Since it's Texas we feel like we've been teased for the past two months with sunny warm beautiful days that made us hopeful, only for those days to be immediately followed by freezing temperatures. Since we're in March we've got to be hitting some kind of spring stride at this point, right?
...We think so.
...We hope so.
But with spring comes the inevitable: Flowers. Flowers Everywhere.
We're not just talking about the kind that douse your car in pollen either. No- we're talking about the flowers that explode all over the racks at Target and that dollop every picture frame and accessory from here to well, everywhere else. Florals aren't just IN at springtime, they come back with a vengeance. It's as if the flowers are legitimately upset that winter's frost ever took their spotlight, and it's time for payback.
Now listen- we're not here to diss flowers, we're artists- nature is our purest form of inspiration; but we are here to say that they need to chill out a bit. Maybe have a break, do some yoga, take a painting class where they aren't the subject matter...you know, relax. This is why you'll find our calendar has got a little bit of everything this month (including SOME florals- we're not monsters). But if we were going to be honest, our ABSOLUTE favorite paintings in March are the ones without the petals.
Want to know which ones?
Ok. We'll tell you:
Space Orbs: A class that was made for family day! Seriously, who doesn't want to paint these ridiculously cute rolly-polly illustrations from the most successful space movie franchise ever? (You know the one).
Doughnut Surprise: Maybe we're just hungry, but we're nearly positive this painting would make a pretty sweet (pun) addition to any kitchen or living area.
La Femme Visage: We don't speak French, but "La Femme Visage" has got to mean something along the lines of "prettiest painting ever". Don't be intimidated by this one, we've got the perfect artist to lead you through it step-by-step!
Paint Your Pet: A class where you paint a portrait of your fur babe. Need we say more? (If we did need to say more though it would be to let you know that yes, we do sketch your pet out for you).
Painting with a Purpose: Raising money for an endangered species and painting cute animals definitely wins out over florals, hands down. Help us raise money for the Okapi Conservation at the Dallas Zoo!
Those are our favorites this month, we hope you like them too!
May your wine glass be full and your allergies be mild, Cheers!
