Sunday, January 24th from 2-4 pm Texas Humane Heroes is a private, non-profit organization founded in 1979, with adoption center locations in the Austin and Killeen/Fort Hood areas. Formed by the January 2013 merger of the Humane Society of Williamson County and the Cen-Tex Humane Society 2nd Chance Adoption Shelter, Texas Humane Heroes is 100% funded by donations, grants, and modest fees for service. Texas Humane Heroes receives no government funding. To that end, our funds support high-volume adoption programs with a forecasted adoption rate of over 3,000 in 2013, low-cost spay/neuter clinics open to the public in an effort to eliminate pet homelessness by preventing unwanted births, and pet retention programs including low-cost vaccination clinics and counseling services helping members of our community to have the resources needed to hold on to their beloved pets 50% of the proceeds will be donated to Texas Humane Heroes.
