Kira

Kira came to Abilene in 2019 and absolutely loves living in Texas. She discovered painting while attending a class (similar to a Painting with a Twist Class) 3 years ago. Kira loved the class so much she bought art supplies and has been painting at home and with family & friends ever since. Kira started teaching at Painting with a Twist in 2022. She believes anyone can learn how to paint and have fun doing it. You may hear Kira say during one of her classes “Progress over Perfection” and “Fun over Form”. She strives to remember these sayings in her own art journey. Kira earned a Bachelor’s degree in Health Science while attending Brigham Young University – Idaho. In her free time Kira enjoys painting, wakeboarding, skeet shooting, board games, playing fetch with her adorable Labrador Retriever, and spending quality time with her husband. Jessica

Jessi grew up in Oregon before recently moving to Abilene, Texas. She has always enjoyed art in all forms. She pursued an Art degree in photography right after high school. She’s always enjoyed drawing, painting and especially loves using acrylics, watercolors, and the occasional sharpie paint markers for more defined art “pops”! After having her daughter and focusing on family, she recently rediscovered her love for painting and sharing this passion with others! She loves nature, trees, lakes, and the ocean. In her free time she enjoys exploring nature, rock hunting, and thriving with her family making endless memories. Come paint some happy trees with Jessi soon!

Joy

Joy was born in Salt Lake City, Utah but grew up in Colorado. She moved to Texas in the early 90s, and found her place in Abilene in 2016. Her dad was military and retired shortly after she moved to Wichita Falls. Joy is a single mother of two boys who are both halves of her heart and her family is everything. You can always find Joy in her high heels with her sketchbook supplies ready in hand! She has had a love for art and the desire to pursue it ever since she could remember. Joy loves to create and fix things and wants to learn and do as much as she can. She has been drawing since she was little and can make or fix just about anything! She is almost like a Human Photocopy Machine and a Little Miss Macgyver all in one! When she is not in the studio, she keeps herself busy with family or community outreach helping those who are struggling or in need. She loves helping others especially when it comes to art! Joy is our Certified Cheer-bringer guaranteed to make you smile and brighten your day!

Skyler

Skyler grew up in Abilene, Texas and came to Painting with a Twist in September 2023. She graduated from the University of North Texas in 2015 with a Bachelor’s degree in Art History and Journalism, but grew up painting and never stopped. She’s lived in different parts of the state including Austin and Dallas but moved back to her hometown to get back to her roots. She has worked with acrylic, oil, watercolor, digital, and even experimented with creating 3-D sculptures in college! You can find her outside of class reading a thriller with her cat (although he’s not the best reader), painting and creating art, or hanging out with her family and friends. Skyler looks forward to painting with you in class!

Stephanie

Stephanie was born and raised in Simi Valley, California. She moved to Abilene, Texas with her husband in 2023 right after they married. Stephanie joined our team in March 2024 with a passion to further her art career. She graduated with a degree in Art and General Studies with experience in 2D and 3D art and Gallery Practices. Stephanie discovered a passion for teaching art and bringing the light of love, hope and encouragement to everyone through her artwork! Stephanie lives by this quote by Lana Del Ray, “Doing what you love is freedom. Loving what you do is happiness.” Outside the studio, she loves to paint and do handmade crafts in her home studio. She has a great love for the beach, sunflowers, community outreach, art galleries, working with kids, and spending quality time with her husband, family and friends.
