Painting with a Twist FAQ

  • Please note, no persons may enter the studio if they feel ill, have a fever, or have been in contact with those known to have COVID-19. Masks are required to enter the studio.  We reserve the right to ask any guest to leave without a refund or store credit for failure to comply with these safety rules, including not wearing a mask or not wearing your mask properly.
  • What if I am late to class? Slightly late? No problem, we will get you caught up. If you arrive more than 20 minutes after class start time, you will not be able to paint. You will be given your canvas and may attend our make-up class called SOS.
  • Do I need a reservation to come paint? Yes! In order to ensure we have enough supplies, staff, and space to make your experience the best it can be, we require reservations for all our events. You can reserve your seat on the website through our calendar, which will take payment at the time of reservation, call our studio at (504) 361-0574 to make a payment over the phone, or come see us in person.
  • What are the prices?
Most of the time, our prices are $39/person for a two hour painting, and $49/person for a three hour painting. Special classes, like Paint Your Pet, are $57/person. Prices also depend on what surface you choose to paint.
  • Do you sell food or beverages? No, we are strictly bring-your-own! Lucky for you, there are a lot of great restaurants in our neighborhood.
  • There is no public class on your calendar when I want to come! What should I do? Call us and sweet talk our studio manager! We might be able to work something out for you. We need at least a week's notice to do this though!
  • Can everyone in my group sit together? Sure! Let us know in advance who is part of your group and we will make sure you get to paint together.
  • When will next month's calendar of public classes be available? On the first week of the month before. For example, November's calendar will be released on the first week of October.
  • What is your cancellation policy? For individual classes a store credit will be issued with at least 48 hours notice. If cancelling within 2 hours of start time, no refunds or credits will be issued. NO REFUNDS ARE ISSUED ONCE A CLASS IS BOOKED, only a store credit. To cancel a private party, we need one week's notice and the 3-seat deposit is non refundable. Painting with a Twist reserves the right to change the artist, postpone the class, or cancel a class for unforeseen circumstances like weather conditions. In this case, we will ONLY issue a store credit, no card refunds, no exceptions.
  • What if I am running late to class? In order to best serve our customers, we will no longer be admitting any painters who arrive more than 20 minutes after the class start time. This is because our classes are tightly scheduled - missing 20 minutes sets both you and the artist way back! If you are more than 20 minutes late, you will be issued a store credit to come another time. We really appreciate your understanding!
  • How far in advance should I reserve a spot in a public class? As soon as you decide to come! Our classes often sell out, or sometimes, if no one has signed up, we will change the painting or book a private party instead. Let us know if you plan on coming so we are prepared for you!
  • How far in advance should I book a private party? We need a minimum of two weeks' notice to prepare for your party, but spots are first come, first served, so you should call us as soon as you have a date in mind!
  • Where can I view all your paintings? We have an online gallery available only to our party hosts once they have booked a party with us, but you can get a good idea of what paintings we offer by viewing our calendar or the calendar of ANY Painting With A Twist location nationwide!
  • Does the class start at the indicated time? Sure does! We will not let anyone paint who arrives 20 minutes late, to ensure the best experience for the majority of our customers.
  • When can my kids come? Any time you see an event on our calendar called "Kids Day" or "Family Day" or "All Ages Welcome" or something along those lines. Be sure to keep an eye out during breaks from school. We also do kids' parties! Our weekend evening public classes are adults only,  ages 18+.
  • Do I have to paint the painting I see on the calendar? You are completely in charge of what your painting looks like, and you are free to do whatever you want on your canvas! However, our instructor will only be instructing the painting you see on the website, so you may be on your own!
