Painting with a Twist FAQ

What is Painting with a Twist?

Painting with a Twist is a fun art studio for anyone interested in painting! In our classes we use acrylic paints on various sizes of stretched canvas, framed canvases, pine plank boards, and porch leaners! We take each class and party step by step through the selected painting while singing and dancing and having a great time! Most of our guests have no painting experience and all of them have great success!

How does this work?

Our online calendar posted on our website shows all of our public classes, with descriptions of what we are painting and at what time.  When you see one you like, sign up online or give us a call at the studio to reserve and pay for your seat! We also host private parties and VIP public classes - please call or email for more info!

What are the class prices?

Prices depend on the painting time and surface.  Most 2 hour classes start at $40 per painter, and 3 hour classes start at $50 per painter.  1.5 hour kids classes start at $32 per painter

What is the parking situation at the Jenkintown studio?

We are directly across the street from a municipal parking lot and there is a kiosk at the entrance of the lot which will take coins, dollar bills or credit/debit cards  Cost is $.50 per hour and free after 8:00 PM.  Also, free all day Sunday, and Wednesdays after 5:00 PM.  Metered street parking is also available - all regulations are the same (FREE on Wednesday night, Sunday, and daily after 8:00 PM) The Pump House lot next door is available to our guests after 6:00 PM.

Can I stop in anytime and paint?

We have classes scheduled at specific times for guests to come and paint. Pre-registration is required for these events. Check out our Pop in & Paint Schedule for Walk-In hours

Are we allowed to bring in beverages and food?

Our studio is all BYO - we only serve paint water! Feel free to bring in your favorite beverage and some light snacks to enjoy during class! Remember you are painting most of the time so finger foods are best! No sternos, please. We provide plastic cups, plates, napkins and bottle openers/corkscrews. We do not provide ice or serving or eating utensils, so bring those with you.

What do I wear?

Dress code is casual, but please note that acrylic paint is permanent on most fabrics.  We do provide aprons for guests to wear while painting. We are following all federal, state, and local guidelines regarding masks and distancing. Thank you for your cooperation.

Do I need to bring anything with me to paint?

Your reservation fee includes everything you need to create a beautiful and unique painting! When you arrive you are supplied with an apron, brushes, paints and step by step art instruction throughout the class! When class is done, your artwork is ready to hang! The only thing you may want to bring are some refreshments. We provide plastic cups, plates, napkins and bottle openers/corkscrews. We do not provide ice or serving or eating utensils, so please bring those with you.

Can my child come with me to paint?

We try to offer a variety of classes that appeal to a wide range of ages. Please refer to individual class descriptions for age recommendations.  Friday and Saturday evening classes are for adults only (age 16+ with an adult painter) Please note that it is the law that you have to be 21 years old to consume alcoholic beverages.

Can my friends come and watch us without painting?

Guests must purchase a seat to be in the studio during classes/parties. Exceptions are made for childrens’ classes and parties.

Will my painting be dry by the end of the night?

Yes. We have hair dryers to help the process along if needed.

What if I am late? Can I still paint?

Please plan to arrive 15-20 minutes early to get uncorked, smocked, and in your seat! Painting will being promptly at the time listed.  If you are more than 15 minutes late to class, you may not be allowed to paint and will not be given a credit or refund.  Painting With a Twist is more than just painting, it's a step-by-step experience! Arriving late to your class will not allow you or your fellow painters the best possible experience.

I saw a painting event on the schedule but now it's gone. What happened?

If an event doesn't get reservations, we will switch out the artwork to see if our customers would like a different painting. Sometimes we will have 2 paintings up at the same time and see which gets reservations first, then delete the one with none. Someone may have booked a private event at that time so we are accomodating that private party. Bottom line: if you see an event you and your friends want to do, reserve your spot ASAP!
