What is Painting with a Twist?
Painting with a Twist is a fun art studio for anyone interested in partying and painting at the same time! In our classes we use acrylic paints on 16”x20” canvas and teach the class step by step through the specific painting of the day. Most of our guests have no painting experience and all of them have great success!
How does this work?
View our online calendar for a painting like and the register online. Arrive at 15-30 minutes early and bring your favorite beverages and snacks. Get ready for a fun time out!
What are the class prices?
A: Typically, 2-hour classes are $40 per person and 3-hour classes are $45 per person. We sometimes offer other types of classes with different price points. For example, “Open Studio” classes are offered at $35 per person and "Paint your Pet" classes are offered at $60 per person.
What is the parking situation at the Lancaster studio?
Parking is FREE and plentiful at our studio. We are located in the Woods Edge Shopping Plaza at the corner of Columbia Ave. and Centerville Rd. It is well lit at night and offers a safe environment.
Can I stop in anytime and paint?
We hold classes at specific times and those are the only times guests can come in and paint. To join a class, please view our calendar, select a painting you like and register online. Pre-registration is required for all classes since we can not guarantee seats to those that.
What is a V.I.P. group?
Glad you asked! A V.I.P. group is you and at least five other friends picking a day and time and asking us to schedule a public event at that time. And, you get to choose the painting for the event! We create a public painting party around the day and time and painting of your choice. The difference between a V.I.P. group and a Private Party is that you don't have to meet a minimum number of participants because we open it to the public to attend.
Are we allowed to bring in beverages and food?
Our studio is all BYO - we only serve paint water! Feel free to bring in your favorite beverage and some light snacks to enjoy during class! Remember you are painting most of the time so finger foods are best! We provide plastic cups, napkins and bottle openers. We do not provide ice or serving or eating utensils, so bring those with you.
What do I wear?
Whatever is comfortable and you don't mind if a little paint gets on it (we do have aprons for you to wear). We use acrylic paint and our saying is "It comes off your nose and off your toes but not off your clothes!"
Do I need to bring anything with me to paint?
Your reservation fee includes everything you need to create a beautiful and unique painting! When you arrive you are supplied with an apron, canvas, brushes, paints and step by step art instruction throughout the class! When class is done, your artwork is ready to hang! The only thing you may want to bring are some refreshments. We provide plastic cups, napkins and bottle openers. We do not provide ice or serving or eating utensils, so please bring those with you.
Can my child come with me to paint?
The short answer is yes, so long as a parent is with a young person they can paint too. You cannot bring a child just to observe. That being said, we do have specific classes on our calendar just for young artists! Family Day classes are intended for ages 6 and up. All Ages classes are intended for ages 10 and up. Teen & Up classes are intended for ages 13 and up. Evening classes are for adults 18 and older. Please note that it is the law that you have to be 21 years old to consume alcoholic beverages.
Can my friends come and watch us without painting?
Everyone needs a paid seat to stay on premises during all classes, except during select Family or Kids classes when an infant or toddler comes attended by an adult.
When do you post your next month's calendar?
Our calendar is posted so that you should be able to see the schedule six weeks ahead.
Will my painting be dry by the end of the night?
Yes, if there are a few damp spots we have hair dryers available which can dry them quickly.
Cancellation Policy
Please note our policy to cancel applies to individuals in all public and private events.
- If you notify the studio more than 24 hours from your reservation date/time, a studio credit or refund will be issued upon request.
- If you notify the studio within less than 24 hours from the class start time, no refund or credit will be issued.
- Private Event Hosts follow the cancellation policy terms outlined in the Private Event Agreement signed by host.
- Inclement Weather: We may cancel classes if a weather emergency is declared or we determine the roads to be too unsafe to travel. We generally follow the surrounding school districts regarding opening and closing due to weather. In the rare case of a class cancelling due to poor weather conditions, studio credit will be issued to all registered guests, and we will do our best to re-schedule the individual classes. Please see our website or Facebook Page for updates in a case of questionable weather.
- Late Arrivals: If you arrive 15 minutes or more late you may not be allowed to paint and lose the registration fee. Please arrive no later than 10 minutes before the scheduled class time so that everyone will have a blast!
