Tyra is a super trained artist. She has completed a week long training in New Orleans in art instruction, has her degree in art education, and is a High School teacher during the day. During the day (still) and night, and weekend...OK everyday, she is an artist at the studio. You can not ask a question too many times, she is ready for it! Sara is a trained instructor of painting at night, and is a fur baby super hero during the day. In addition to being an artist at the studio, she makes some of the most beautiful and delicious cakes I have ever eaten. Sara is also a groomer at Dee O Gee. Her love for animals is unmatched! Get excited for Sara's classes, the combination of animal lover (CAKE) and painter (again...CAKE)...you really can't go wrong.
Artist Jayanne loves mermaids, flowers and fun! She has several years of experience being a painter at Painting With A Twist. She gets you. And she can show you how to be brilliant with a paint brush. She also loves Scentsy and is a consultant - so if you want some, click on her website!
Jerica hails to us from Las Vegas! She paints AND does digital art prints of pets, check out her instagram when you get a chance. Some interesting tidbits about Jerica: she used to play beach volleyball (junior olympics), coached club volleyball, AND has been a referee. Come on in either Wednesday or Friday nights (or whenever you see her name) to meet Artist Jerica!
Kassie is a student at the UM working toward her teaching certificate in elementary education and will be the BeSt TeAcHeR evah when she is done. Kass has been with our studio for over a year and is a superstar! Need some words of affirmation? A hug? A pat on the back for a job well done? She is your girl! Kass teaches many of our kids classes and private parties. You will see her as a floor artist for our adult classes.
Eliza has pretty much grown up in the studio. She knows just about everything. You will mostly see her as a floor artist, office hours, or pop-in-and-paint.
When Mary Pat retired from teaching, we scooped her up! You will see Mary Pat during office hours and Pop in and Paint. Some fun facts about Mary Pat: she was born in Germany, taught middle school at MCPS schools, and has traveled all over the place. She also leaves us delicious treats at the studio. We don’t know what we would do without her. Probably starve and be unable to find things. Pop-in and meet Mary Pat if you get the chance!
Kim is another integral part to the functioning of our studio! Kim does office hours, Pop-in-and-Paint, is a floor artist, and is also an MCPS retired teacher. Kim is very creative and bursting with great ideas. Need some help with planning a party? Kim is your girl.
Brian is part owner of the studio. He owns the not-fun part. Like bookkeeping and hauling stuff. You will see him occasionally assisting classes. Don’t ask him how to paint. He does not know how. BUT he can refill your paint, tell you your painting looks good, and wash paint brushes. He is the best and does not get enough credit for the fun that happens in the studio. THANK YOU BRIAN!
Artist Emma also known as Precious. Because she is precious. Emma is a student at the university majoring in art and marketing. She is also an E-Sports athlete and is the captain of Fortnite. I kinda know what that means, either way, it sounds like she has a lot of fun. Emma is very clear, exact, and honest when teaching. She excels at landscapes, flowers, and gnomes and if that is your jam, you will probably see her at some point.
TAYLOR LIGHTS UP A ROOM. Ya gotta see it to believe it, so register right NoW. Taylor is a super smarty pants. She has a BS in Biology and Environmental Studies. She has her MS in Aquatic Toxicology. She is working on her PhD in Systems Ecology. I thought she studied bugs in the water, but I was corrected and it has something to do with fish. But wait! There is more! Taylor can also paint and teach you to paint! Taylor happens to be fun, honest, and down to earth - you can’t go wrong taking one of her classes.
