Natalie Oliver is a painter and filmmaker from Kansas. She received her BFA in painting/drawing, Sociology and art history from the University of Kansas in 2013. She earned her MFA in painting and dance film from the University of Utah in 2018. She was a professor of painting and color theory at a local Utah university. She is now the owner and operator of Painting With A Twist in Murray, Utah!
Annie absolutely loves art! She embraces all mediums--specializing in mixed-media sculpture. She believes that creating can be an immensely empowering and healing experience for anyone and everyone. She was the Sterling Scholar for the State of Utah and has a BA from Westminster College. Along with art-ing, Annie enjoys reading, music festivals, rollerblading, and hiking.
Brian enjoys a variety of creative pursuits! He finds Painting with a Twist to be a great outlet for sharing his experience and talents with others. Outside of Painting with a Twist Brian is an oil/acrylic painter and graphic designer. He paints dynamic abstracts in addition to custom commissions such as pet and people portraits. He received BFAs in both painting and graphic design, prior to moving to Salt Lake City in 2013. Brian currently lives in Murray with his husband, Taylor and their two cats, Peggy Sue and Franny. Both Brian and his husband are big foodies, and enjoy traveling. Brian also likes staying active by jogging and excercise, as well as decorating for the seasons and holidays.
Hanna has always loved art and loves finding new ways to be creative. She strives to learn new techniques and new ways to 'art' since the field is always changing and growing with new creative ideas. Hanna is a creative soul outside of Painting with a Twist and loves writing, photography, acting, wreath making, costumes, and honestly any time that she is creating something, she is happy. Creating memories with her family, her doggies, escaping into the mountains whenever she can and getting lost in a good book
Kathy is upbeat, spontaneous, and moves through life with a lightheartedness that feels like a breath of fresh air. She has a reputation for being a bit of extra fun, and is often heard saying that she “may have to grow older, but that doesn’t mean she has to grow up.” Kathy is an accomplished painter that works within a variety of styles, she also loves to experiment with different mediums such as hot glue and clay. She has an innate ability to see past the ordinary into the extraordinary. Kathy’s personality is reflected in her artwork, making her pieces creative, imaginative, and truly unique. When Kathy is not creating, she enjoys finding inspiration through world travel.
Marja (mar-eeee-yuuhh) My hands ever since I was little were on some sort of art supplies and I've always loved to create. I've gown up in Utah and love the landscape diversity and unique beauty of each. I am an artist pursuing and building up my skills in art school.
Nathan is an artist raised in Salt Lake. Who has a passion and strength for contributing to avenues that lead to creativity. He likes using materials such as pens and ink, acrylics, watercolors, charcoal, oil, organics, or electronic software to create artwork. Embodying as your local artist, Nathan has hopes of impacting community at large to participate in artistic expression. Providing guidance to aspiring artists in order to help them hone their skillset.
With a life-long passion for all forms of art and art history, she is eager to provide a comfortable, fun space for everyone! Growing up on the East Coast, she has always found her inspiration in cityscapes, nature, the spaces around her, and even her two cats! As a new member of the Utah community this year, Rachel is so excited to get to know everyone and do what she loves together. As an artist, she enjoys producing various works across mediums such as acrylic paints, charcoal, ink, printmaking, collage, and ceramics. She is pursuing her M.S. in Arts Administration and Cultural Entrepreneurship from Northeastern University, where she plans to inspire the Utah community to connect through public art events. Rachel is focused on inspiring inclusion and individuality in all that she does. After her painting is done, she can be found hiking up a mountain, searching for local coffee shops, taking photos, and hanging out with her cats.
