Looking for something fun to do where you can relax, unwind, and have a keepsake to cherish at the end? At Bottle & Bottega Park Ridge, we’re all about celebrating what you love and venerating all different cultures and walks of life. That’s why we’re hosting a Diwali painting and wine party at our Park Ridge-based art studio on Sunday, October 6th.
What Is Diwali?
As an important Indian cultural holiday, Diwali originates from the Hindu faith. “Diwali” translates to “Festival of Lights.” Several legends explain the origin of Diwali, but the holiday itself celebrates the destruction of all negative qualities, such as violence, anger, jealousy, or greed. Clay lamps called diyas are lit to signify this, and men and women wear traditional Indian attire while enjoying delicious Indian food such as mini samosas, khasta puri, and more, often while listening to Indian music.
