Painting with a Twist FAQ
Q: What is Painting with a Twist?
A: Painting with a Twist is a fun art, not fine art, studio for anyone interested in painting! We use acrylic paint and have so many surefaces to choose from. We offer scheduled events where we lead the class, step-by-step, through a specific painting. Walk-ins are welcome during our Pop In & Paint hours for a more DIY experience. Most of our guests have no painting experience, but all of them have fun and great success.
Q: How does Painting with a Twist work?
A: We have an online Event Calendar that shows our Public and Private Events. Select a painting that you like, on a date and time that works for you. Register and pay online. Please note the age restrictions in the class description. Arrive for 15 minutes prior to class to prepare for a relaxing and fun time!
Q: What if I want to sit near my friend(s) but we are registering separately?
A: You can come to a public class alone, with a friend, or as a group. Choose an "person" or a fun "group name" and when registering individually, have everyone mention it in the “Sitting with anyone else?” box during the registration process. We will do our best to seat your group together.
Q: Can my friends (or children) come to watch without painting?
A: Only paid guests are allowed. NO INFANTS PLEASE!
Q: Do I need to reserve the private studio if I have a big group?
A: You can book a private party if you choose, but you don't have to! Large groups can paint in our public classes, or you can find our private party information here.
Q: Are we allowed to bring in food and beverages?
A: YES! That’s the TWIST. Feel free to bring in your favorite beverage and some snacks to enjoy during class. Remember, you are painting most of the time, so finger foods are best. We supply cups, plates, napkins, and bottle openers, but you’ll need to bring ice and utensils.
Q: Do I need to bring anything with me to paint?
A: Your reservation fee includes everything you need to create a beautiful and unique painting, including an apron to cover your clothes. When class is over, your artwork is ready to take home and hang! The only thing you may want to bring are some refreshments.
Q: Can children paint?
A: We love our young artists and have specific classes designated just for them, such as ALL AGES and TEENS & UP. Please see each class description for age requirements. Children are always welcome to Pop In & Paint.
Q: Do you offer Corporate and/or Offsite events?
A: We do! Please contact the studio to discuss your wants and needs in detail. We look forward to discussing the different ways we can provide you with a unique experience for all to remember!
Q: Do you have Gift Certificates?
A: We have universal gift cards that can be purchased online. Gift certificates may not be used for our “Painting with a Purpose” events/fundraisers, nor some other special events.
Q: What is your Cancellation Policy?
A: All reservations are non-refundable, but guests cancelling with at least 24-hours’ notice (regardless of when the reservation is made) will be issued store credit. Guests arriving more than 15 minutes late will not be permitted to paint and are considered "no shows” and are not eligible for store credit. Leaving a message or emailing within 24 hours is sufficient, even if you don't hear back before your event. You may also send someone in your place if you are unable to attend.
This policy includes ALL unforeseen circumstances (traffic, accidents, illness (COVID), inclement weather, funerals, and other emergencies). It does NOT apply to VIP/private party hosts under contract, nor does it apply to Twist at Home kits or fundraiser reservations where ALL SALES ARE FINAL.
Q: What if there is bad weather?
A: A store credit will be issued to all registered guests should we need to cancel a class as a result of inclement weather. If the studio is open and classes are running, guests choosing not to attend will NOT be issued a store credit.
Q: When should I arrive to class?
A: Please arrive to class no later than 15 minutes before the scheduled start time. Guests arriving 15 minutes (or more) late may not be allowed to paint, and forfeit the registration fee. Please be considerate of your classmates… arrive on time! Guests that have added a candle to their reservation should arrive 20 minutes early.
