Painting with a Twist FAQ
What is Painting with a Twist?
Painting with a Twist is a fun art studio for anyone interested in painting! In our classes we use acrylic paints. We teach the class step by step in either the 21+ beer/wine Bar room or Family room for all ages. Most of our guests have no painting experience and all of them have great success!
Other Services include:
- Pay to Play: You will have access to our Family Room or 21+ Room. You can come alone or as a group. You can come and work on any project of your choice, start a new hobby, have a book club, paint club, scrap booking, or any type of project at all! We are offering $20 per person over the age of 6 years old to come and join us. Reservations must be made in advance.
- After-School Art Programs: We currently provide semester-length art programs at Los Perales and Donald Rheem Elementary of Moraga and John Swett Elementary of Martinez. If you think your after-school coordinators would be interested in our program please have them contact us! We also are a vendor for several Bay Area homeschool programs for summer camps and every Fall and Spring Semester. You can check to see if we are an approved vendor for your homeschool program or request us to be added to you curriculum through your school program!
- Private Party: Birthdays, team-builders, graduation parties, holiday parties, and more! We are happy to accomodate all age parties in our Family Room.
Can I stop in anytime and paint? What is Open Studio?
We typically hold events at specific times, including open studios. Our open studios are self-led DIY classes, and guests will be provided with written instructions. You can choose any painting from the 'At Home Kit' tab above! An artist will be present to answer questions and provide tips but does not walk patrons step by step. You can sign up online, and Open Studios are offered once a month. These events are perfect for groups that can't decide which event to sign up for, as everyone can do their own thing! Be sure to sign up ahead of time so that our artists can prepare your materials.
If you did not complete your painting from a prior class we will hold a free SOS (Save our Stuff) class once a month for you to come by and complete it. (SOS’s are for all classes but not Pay and Play events). They will be posted online each month. To join a class, please view our calendar, and register online. Pre-registration is recommended for all classes.
Are we allowed to bring in beverages and food?
No outside beverages are permitted. We sell beer, wine, and non-alcoholic drinks at great prices! You are welcome to bring in your favorite food to enjoy during class! Remember you are painting most of the time so finger foods are best! You can even order food directly to the studio, provided that you are present to receive and pay for it.
Do I need to bring anything with me to paint?
Your reservation fee includes everything you need to create a beautiful and unique painting! When you arrive you are supplied with an apron, canvas, brushes, paints and step-by-step art instruction throughout the class! When class is done, your artwork is ready to hang! The only thing you may want to bring are some snacks and pocket change for any drinks you would like to purchase.
Can my child come with me to paint? [Recommended Ages]
We have a FAMILY ROOM for our younger painters. This could be a daddy/mother/daughter date, whole family fun, teen night, and so forth! the possibilities are endless!
- ALL AGES classes are intended for ages 6 and up. (P.S. -Great with teens, can be dropped off with consent forms signed by guardian.)
- BAR ROOM classes are for 21+ (Children will not be allowed to stay. This means, no infants, children, or teens. This is state law and is reserved for an adult environment).
Can my friends or family come and watch us without painting?
Everyone needs a paid seat to stay on premises during all classes, except if children need supervision. Adults can stay nearby to supervise their child if they are under 10 years old during Private Parties.
